Welcome to Himara (Himarë), the jewel of the Albanian Riviera!

The region of Himara is named after the county town of Himara, that lies on the shores of the Ionian sea. The region of Himare is a strip that starts with the village of Nivica to the south and ends at the Llogara National Park on the north. At the west side lies the Ionian sea and a continuous series of peninsulas, capes and bays, some of wich like Porto Palermo are closed and sheltered from the wind, while others provide long and beautiful Beaches.

On the east site lies the mass of the Acrokeraunian mountain range, with high peaks like Cika(2,018m), Augo and Messimeri. The strip line between the mountains and the sea is the beautiful and historic land of Himara, with it's villages and theis old stone build houses, the Byzantinechurches and monasteries, the castles and many other monuments, as well as the people of Himarahospitable and proud, who have remained unbowed throughout history.

The village has wonderful running waters, a beautiful long beach and a small number of hotels and taverns. Just after Borsh comes the village of Piqeras, a small and quiet village with its beautiful beach Buneci, continuing with Lukove and its great beaches until we arrive at Shen Vasil, a village rich with traditional architecture.
